Chenrezig (or Avalokiteshvara) can be understood as the manifestation of the compassionate activity of the enlightened mind of all Buddhas.  The core of this meditation practice involves directly connecting with our fundamental enlightened potential instead of identifying ourselves in terms our ordinary personal patterns and limitations. Through this it is possible to directly connect to the fundamental unity of wisdom and compassion.

The meditation on the Bodhisattva Chenrezig was the principle Vajrayana practice that Kalu Rinpoche introduced in the West because it was a simple yet complete path. This day of teaching and practice will include background teachings on the principles of Vajrayana practice, but the emphasis will be on using guided meditation to show how these principles are embodied in the practice.  This class is suitable for those new to the practice or long-time practitioners.
