Teaching by Lama Drupgyu

We are delighted to announce that our long-time Dharma friend Lama Drupgyu (Anthony Chapman) will visit Kagyu Changchub Chuling again. We have asked him to speak on Wednesday, May 24 about the challenge of making Buddhist practice accessible while maintaining the depth and authenticity of the Dharma. (The session will be in lieu of our usual Chenrezig practice.) We have found Lama Drupgyu to be delightful and thought-provoking. Bring your questions!

Lama Drupgyu Tenzin became a student of H.E. Kalu Rinpoche in 1972 and participated in the first traditional three-year retreat in the West from 1976 to 1980 in France. Kalu Rinpoche subsequently appointed him as Lama of his center in Paris. Later Lama Drupgyu became the first westerner to be appointed as Retreat Master, leading three-year retreats on Salt Spring Island, Canada. Subsequently, he participated for six years in the translation of Jamgon Kongtrul’s Treasury of Knowledge. Lama Drupgyu assisted in the establishment of Tsadra Foundation, a New York-based non-profit that supports development of Vajrayana in the West, and he is currently Vice-President.  Tsadra Foundation's support made it possible for some of KCC's three-year retreatants to participate in their long retreat.

KCC was founded in 1976 by the Very Venerable Kalu Rinpoche, one of the eminent meditation masters of modern Tibet and a holder of the Karma Kagyu and Shangpa Kagyu lineages.
